Guild History

The history part has been divided into game sections to understand better where and when things happen. This total history of the guild will also provide details that are usually forgotten. Sections are divided by the games in chronological order from starting year 2003. Between 2003 and 2023, the guild had over 20,000 members and over 65,000 allied members.

Diablo 2 lord of destruction (2003-2004)

Our guild started under the name Cosa Nostra in the game Diablo 2 lord of Destruction (LOD) on 14.3.2003. The guild grew to become one of the biggest in the Finnish LOD scene, a scene that exists even today despite the game being decades old. The guild grew from 3 original members to uncountable numbers (calculations say over 200). The biggest reason I can only estimate the number of guild members in this game is that the game lacks a guild system. Initially, The guild was run with paper copy lists of guild members by account names connected to Captains' names. Each player had a maximum of 24 slots in the whispering list, and we reinforced the rule that captain-ranked players should hold at least 10 members in their friend list. On the contrary, captains were added to the guild leader's whisper list for convenience. By this arcane way, our organisation as a guild could grow in a game with no guild system.

Conquer Online (times of Statue of Zeus server) (2004-2007)

On 15.3.2004, the guild was re-founded in the game called Conquer Online. At first, our main server was the Statue of Zeus, where we reorganised the guild under Justice*For*All. The guild was made with the help of a few captains who formed the veteran lead core of the guild for several years to come. Our refound guild was not just made from the original lead core from the old guild Cosa Nostra. At first, we built on political alliances with guilds such as Veneration and LivenLarge. With the leadership of original members and with the help of new allies, a new combined guild started growing in a game that had, at that time, one of the best guild systems. Also, the political climate in the server was really interesting in the first years. But more about that later, when we have viewed the matter of this new guild, Justice*For*All. The guild was based on rules and values from Diablo 2: deputy leaders needed to work for their jobs, and the guild worked in all of the guild members' interests, making things easier for everyone. Those were also principal foundations upon which we work today and will continue work in the future.

Our guild was growing between political wars between early 2004 and the beginning of 2005. These turbulent wars over "ownership" of server were going on in the server during that period. All the guilds were strongly allied with each other, so working in politics was even more challenging than before. Mainly because for every move you made, there were sudden impacts that you could not always safely predict. Under such occasions, mismanaged or misbehaved guilds were sinking ships on turbulent grand strategy ocean. Many small and average guilds died out, and some of the most prominent guilds emerged. One of them Justice*For*All.

Despite the complex situations, our guild survived on every occasion. Competition was brutal, and hardship included reasons to destroy our guild. Sometimes, guilds and alliance unions were preparing to destroy Justice*For*All once and for all because some people thought of our guild as a threat to them or because it was growing and taking an essential place in the political field. This place was not freely to be taken as this eventful year went by.

At the end of 2004, the guild grew, and its quality improved. At a maximum number of members had grown to 139, but then came the lottery system on Conquer Online. Lottery messed up Conquer's economy, and many people quit the game because of it. Statue of Zeus lost almost 20 % at first, and after three months with the lottery, 30 % of servers overall population. Some people never returned, and every guild took a huge blow on member counts. Some of the biggest guilds needed to sustain the loss of over 50% of the population. Luckily, Conquer continued growing and prevented things from going horribly wrong. However, there was still a vast number of people who left and would never return.

Another big event at the end of 2004 was the market war. Guilds tried to gain power in markets by setting their own market prices. Famous and most well-known try was from WTF called guild, whose goal was on their guild bulleting:

"Juzt Hav Fun! Feel Free To PK Pinoys! My Plan Is To Get The Guild Big Enough To Start Setting Our Own Server Prices And Other Stuff Dont Cry For Plvl 24/7 If Im Plvling Ill Say So !!~"

This message is a great example of our guild's systematic spying that helped win many information-related wars and diplomatics over the coming years. Our spy networks also grew when the guild grew, and the years went by. This exciting detail we will talk more about later.

There were also many other little guilds with the same purposes, but they did not come even close to WTF's plans. That started three kinds of wars, 1. was the first mentioned market war, 2. war was about ruling server with casual power and respect over people with power politics and 3. guild war. This war was not at first Justice*For*All against WTF-guild. Tension grew, and guilds fell one by one, and at the start of 2005 Justice*For*All had gained ground politically, numerally and economically. Dice had been cast for control of the server.

The first war, later named the market war, was against everyone who wanted to put their own prices on certain items such as meteorites. This open market that lowered prices of items was not for the benefit of WTF-guild, which saw low market prices as a possibility for other guilds to grow by the quality of items. At the time, a handful of overpowered items were deciding the fate of guild wars. Keeping such items within the guild was prioritised by bribing members. This was the main tactic of WTF-guild. This tactic caused blackmailing and teasing.

The second war destroyed many excellent and bad guilds, bad ones just because they were so badly organised and good ones 'cause they were in stronger guilds' way and represented different kinds of values than power ruling or let's have "fun" culture with brainless thinking which caused and will cause many troubles in the whole server. This political war destroyed many guilds for different reasons but for the same purpose: to keep the biggest guilds in control of the whole server.

Let us get back to the Lottery system that almost destroyed our guild too. After New Year in 2006, 1/3 of people left and in 3 weeks, the guild was totally offline, including leaders. That timeout lasted half a year and ended in the summer 2006. There were many reasons for this, but the biggest one was the harsh environment for guilds caused by the new Lottery system. It made rich people even richer at the expense of others. Power was pooled on guilds that had real money to spend for the game. Later, in the summer of 2006, our guild started to heal from its wounds, and the number of members jumped from 40 to 155 on our best days without limitation, then it dropped close to 130 and stayed there until 1.1.2007.

The year 2007 offered many challenges: politics were ruled by the server's strongest guilds, and although Justice*For*All had a good ranking, we could not combat the biggest guild alone. The old enemy WTF-guild had reorganised under the new guild name RESPECT. The lottery system had caused devastating harm to WTF-guild. Many old members had sold their accounts and legendary items. Our guild members bought some of those items. These items included the server's highest + backsword, bought by Raistlin Majere with a dummy account. Also, the highest + pair of poison blades were bought by our guild ally, the guild leader and our guild member. Many such blunders were made, but the scale of strength in the server kept changing again and again. The new power that Justice*For*All got was not just due to secret item trades. One of the most significant factors was also large alliances with the most prominent guilds in the server. These alliances helped our guild weather bad diplomatic problems that followed when RESPECT decided to outright enemy our guild.

On 6.2007, we went to war against the strongest guild, RESPECT. The main reason was that they would not respect our members' right to be safe (attacking our members and demanding some members to be kicked out just because they were from Brasilia or Egypt and other kinds of racism. These demands were unacceptable, and we were unable to sort things out by talking.

After three weeks of aggression and discussions, things went back to neutral, and both sides became peaceful.

Peace did not last very long. RESPECT's guild war domination lasted half a year straight and kept the guild area closed. These areas were commonly used for levelling characters fast. The whole server was bitter and angry about it, and many lost hope of getting those areas accessible again. There were a lot of "reasons" for RESPECT keeping the guild area closed, but not the right ones. Justice*For*All acted as our rules demanded. This started a strenuous campaign to get guild areas back.

At that time, many smaller guilds fought against RESPECT, and we in Justice*For*All started gathering troops against RESPECT's guild war domination.

In 3 weeks, Justice*For*All made what needed to be done.

1. We created guild unions with 12 guilds, including all the strongest enemies of RESPECT.

2. Worked for lvl 110 requirement and started recruiting campaign.

3. When the union was formed, we asked allies to join in Justice*For*all. The biggest alliance guilds were led by <rai> and Icecold. They were responsible for maintaining security in the guild area and the main assault volley. Smaller guilds joined in Justice*For*All for the biggest battle in Statue Of Zeus server. Those who joined us for guild war Corl3one stayed ally while everyone else joined us, making this union the biggest force in of Justice*For*All's history until that moment. Guild members were close to 200, with a level 110 requirement for non-reborn players. At that time, huge demand kept our guild from growing exponentially. This decision was made mainly because of spies and organisation demand. Justice*For*All needed to be in the best fitness to combat the biggest and strongest guild in the server.

After three weeks of planning on guild wars, two last hours were coming. Justice*For*All announced for the whole server in public chat that we would defend public rights for guild areas, and people came. We got into the guild castle during the last half hour With five different division groups and managed to break both gates for troops to join us in battle. Gates were flooded, and the RESPECT guild had great trouble maintaining troops within the gates. When our guild's three strongest teams were inside, our assault on RESPECT guild's revival teams decimated guild area fort defences. This gave the two strongest allies enough time to reopen guild area gates for the remaining guilds waiting to get inside to do battle. The last 10 minutes were pure madness. Screens lagged like hell; there were, at times, nearly 60 or more on one screen at any given time.

In comparison, the guild area had around 10 x 10 screens in it. With a server that could hold only 5,000 people online at any given time, this was a great number of people participating in the Great War. In the last minutes, our teams of archers and fire-taos hit volleys after volleys on enemy leaders, great levellers of death on the battlefield. Such trickery was met with ultimate success when our union ally got the pool, and our side won the guild war.

Everyone who was there that day remembers it. Twin City was full of people celebrating the new era of freedom, a greatly celebrated and long-valued victory that the union had crafted by their own hands.

Ogame break and new decisions (2008)

After crushing defeat and several months of lul, Conquer Online did not hold any challenges. Our guild changed its focus to a game called Ogame. After leaving the Statue of Zeus server 1.3.2008, the guild reorganised at Ogame. This reorganising was mainly for guild's Finnish members. Otherwise, Justice*For*All was maintained in Conquer online. Thou it must be said that on Statue of Zeus server, only little did happen at that time. Many people left the game. Some parts of the guild were transferred to Ogame, and it stayed there for break-time for serious gaming (the reason was simple: a majority of our old members were going into military service, getting ready for university exams or some other activities that could not allow much time for playing).

Conquer Online (Honor server) (2008-2010)

After the break 5.11.2008, I decided, after investigation, to rebuild the guild at server Honor, under the name Sum_Infanus. The guild was founded on 28.11.2008. Honor server was in bad shape. Racism and disloyalty were everywhere. That put heavy boundaries on us, but still, we overcame hard times and maintained our campaign against racism to help people overcome their envy and unnecessary pride. Later on, the server was merged with Justice server and we decide to merge with Yin&Yang guild to secure server balance.

Merge was highly successful, granting our newfound big guild a steady place among server diplomacy. One of the best moments in this diplomacy was when TheFirm guild (at that time 4th powerful guild in server) merged with Yin&Yang (at the time, the second strongest guild in the server). So, in terms of power, the newly formed guild Yin&Yang was made of the second strongest guild in the server, Yin&Yang and the powerful Sum_Infanus and 4th strong guild, TheFirm. Both of these guilds were from justice server. This meant that through diplomacy Sum_Infanus had overnight gained power as a guild many times over old guilds power. This also meant that the old enemy was shrinking in size while our newly formed guild battled against the biggest new guild in the combined server. For further note, this power play in server politics was designated a week earlier before the server merge took place. The plan succeeded with great efforts of diplomacy involved.

At the beginning of 2010, Conquer online had suffered a lot from TQ's constantly newly added over costly "features" that pretty much killed serve. While watching the year server going downhill, it was time to leave Conquer online.

CrazyCO (server 1) (2011)

Our guild was reinstalled with the name Justice*For*All on 29.6.2011 on the private CO server CrazyCO.

The guild website was first published on 19.7.2011. Server 1 merged with server 2 on 24.7.2011. Despite some item mess and couple weeks of confusion our guild has grown from 30 members to over 100.

On 9.8.2011, the Justice*For*All Facebook community was created, and a picture gallery was moved from this website to Facebook. The member count was 145.

On 12.11.2011, our guild had 90% of servers English speakers, and the member number was nearly 300. However, CrazyCo's economy and inflation death spiral ruined the server, and we couldn't be there any longer.

Conquer Online (Fire EU server) (2012-2013)

After disastrous times in CrazyCo server, the guild needed to look for new ground for itself. This time, we made a wiser choice, Europe server with some old friends in it already. This proved to be one of the best calls in the history of Justice*For*All. The decision was made among the community, so gratitude for this decision falls on all old members of Justice.

The guild was established on EU server Fire under the old name Justice*For*All on 10.4.2012. In the beginning, the guild was founded by old members of Justice who joined our guild from 3 different servers, including CrazyCo (private), Honor/Justice and Statue of Zeus servers. Growth was fast. After the first two weeks, we had opened every arsenal, connected with four good allies, and our guild had over 80 members.

After the first month, we have been proceeding astoundingly despite little member reforming and some minor diplomatic hardships. Our ally list was full, with no enemies, and the guild level is currently 2. On 21.5.2012. we also won 3 of the top classes.

Time on the Fire server ended for particular reasons. At the same time, Fire server times were one of the best times intellectually for the guild. With the usage of larger spy networks, the establishment of a guild university at the beginning of 2013 and renewed guild ranks that were held on the guild website because the game could not allow unique ranks. Our guild had extremely specified tasks for guild members, and with over 250 specified guild members, some of the greatest intellectuals emerged. However, before the year 2013 ended, the guild had to be put on hold. Many lead core members moved, got busy with university and were otherwise occupied for an extended time. What followed was one of the longest breaks from the guild.

Cabal and tale of Edema Ruh (2016)

On 13.1.2016 our guild re-started on Cabal, on European server Jupiter. Within the first month, the guild had gained over 30 members and had also gained guild level 2.

The guild was disbanded primarily because we didn't continue it after a few months. Cabal had changed permanently, the guild scene was totally dead, and markets and item balances were mostly pay to win.

Back to Roots Diablo 2, or is it since the whole game is resurrected?

The convoluted headline, I'm sure of it. Philosophy aside, we are pleased to announce the continuation of the guild in Diablo 2. Years and decades later, we can only learn from cool stuff and mistakes made over the years. Honestly, there are terrifyingly mind-numbing amounts of both. So far, the real guild history is 13 years long because we are tryharders; we don't count idle years in between.

Despite many other occasions, we will rename the guild Justice*For*All. It was not the name we used in Diablo 2 very, very long ago, but it represents our values and the golden ages of the guild quite well. One reason is that due to this golden age, several people voluntarily (I swearr) took guild tattoos as a sign of respect and for good memories. Here we are again, making good memories and rigging the game as usual with our best abilities.

Will justice be with you?
